Sophia Jane Porter

Susanna Porter was born on 26 April 1716 in Medford, Massachusetts.2,3 She was the daughter of Rev. Aaron Porter and Susannah Sewall.1 Susanna Porter married Rev. Aaron Cleveland, son of Aaron Cleveland and Abigail Waters, on 4 August 1739 in Medford.4,5 In 1757 as Cleveland's widow she received the remainder of his salary plus £50 from the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel and, with the aid of Judge Stphen Sewall, opened a shop in Salem. Susanna Porter died on 28 March 1788 in Salem, Massachusetts, at the age of 71.2
