LIBERTY CITY - Services for Jim Sewall, 72, of Liberty City will be 10 a. m. Wednesday at Rader Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Haby officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Sewall died Sunday at the University of Texas Health Center in Tyler after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Reklaw and moved to Kilgore in 1980. He was a World War II Army veteran and after eight campaigns received two Bronze Stars with an oak leaf cluster. He owned and operated Kilgore Vacuum Center. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Catherine; daughter, Judy Elliott of Kilgore; son, Jim Jr. of Mount Vernon, Ohio; two brothers; five sisters; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.4

Southard on 6 June 1847 in Corinna, Penobscot County, Maine.6,7 James Fogg Sewall and Christiana K. Southard appear on the census of 1900 at Corinna, Maine, the dates of birth given in the Census June 1835 for James and August 1838 for Christiana both appear to be ten years less than the true dates though they give the length of their marriage as 52 years. Living with them is their daughter Effie and her husband Edward Griffin, a farm labourer as well as a grand-daughter called Grace L. Lane aged 18 whose birth is given as September 1881.8 James Fogg Sewall died on 9 May 1903 at the age of 779 and is buried in the Village Cemetery, Corinna, Maine.9
