Elizabeth Wendell1

     Elizabeth Wendell was baptised on 20 August 1704 at Dutch Church, New York.2 She was the daughter of Abraham Wendell and Katrina de Kay. Elizabeth Wendell married Judge Edmund Quincy, son of Edmund "The Subscriber" Quincy and Dorothy Flynt, on 15 April 1725 in Boston.3,2 He graduated at Harvard in 1722. Resided in Boston, but returned to Braintree about 1748 for a time. He was a merchant in Boston and through financial difficulties was forced to part with the paternal estate and house of Edmund Quincy which was mortgaged in 1754 and sold to his brother in law Edward Jackson in 1755 who lived here sometime. His heirs sold it in 1763 to Robert Williams of Boston who sold to James and Sarah Bradford, whence it went to widow Mary Alleyne, Moses Black, Daniel Greenleaf, Ebenezer Woodward, & Peter Butler.2 Elizabeth Wendell died on 7 November 1769 in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 65.2
