     Walter Sewell Champion was born on 8 February 1866 in Québec.2 He was the son of Charles Pipon Champion and Charlotte Henrietta Westrene Sewell.1 Walter Sewell Champion was baptised on 18 June 1866 at Québec.2 Educated in Lennoxville, Quebec. Started in the insurance business with his father in 1881; and has continued in the same business since that date; the firm held the agency for the Royal Insurance Company; Member Quebec Board of Trade. Served with the 8th Royal Rifles for twenty one years, joining as private and retiring as Captain.3 He married Effie Dunlop, daughter of Johnston J. Dunlop and Julia Ahern, on 22 October 1913 in Wesleyan Methodist Church, Québec.4 Walter Sewell Champion died on 12 November 1940 in Québec at the age of 74.5 He was buried on 13 November 1940 in Mount Hermon Cemetery.5
