     Capt. Rowland Coytemore was the son of William Coytemore and Jane Williams. Capt. Rowland Coytemore is also recorded as Rowland Coytmore.2 He married as his third wife Katherine Miles, daughter of Robert Miles and Parnell Reeve, on 27 December 1610 at Harwich, Essex.3 Capt. Rowland Coytemore died in 1626 in Wapping.4 He made a will dated on 5 June 1626 which was proved 24 November 1626 by his widow Katherine Coytemore.5

He is described in Waters as an East India trader and in Ancestral Roots as grantee of the second charter of Virginia.1,6

Another account simply has him wrecked on the coast of Spain.3,5

William Cranch and Anna Greenleaf.1 Christopher Pearse Cranch married Elizabeth De Windt, daughter of John Peter de Windt and Caroline Amelia Smith, in October 1843.1,2 Christopher Pearse Cranch died on 20 January 1892 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the age of 78.1 He graduated from Columbian College, D.C., in 1831, and from Harvard Divinity School in 1835. He became a close friend of Ralph Waldo Emerson. After preaching for seven years he relinquished the pulpit to study art. He spent the years 1846-49 in Italy, then opened a studio in New York, where he remained, 1849-53, and lived and painted in Paris and Italy, 1853-63. He was elected a National Academician on his return to the United States in 1864, and later a member of the Watercolor Society, and contributed to both exhibitions until 1872, when he removed to Cambridge, Mass., and laid aside his brush almost altogether, devoting his time chiefly to writing. He spent the years 1880-82 in Europe, and resided in New York City, 1882-84. Besides numerous contributions to the leading periodicals, he is the author of: Poems (1844); The Last of the Hugger-muggers (1856); a translation of the Æneid into English blank verse (1872); Kobboltozo (1857); Satan; a Libretto (1874); Bird and the Bell and Other Poems (1875); Arid and Caliban and Other Poems (1886); and A Memorial of Robert Browning (1890). Among his paintings are: October Afternoon (1867); Washington Oak, opposite Newburg, N.Y. (1868); Val de Maline Amalfi (1869); Roman Citizen (1870); Neapolitan Fisherman (1870); Venice (1870); Venetian Fishing Boats (1871.)1
