     Marion Crowell was born on 21 April 1872 in Rahway, New Jersey.1 She was the daughter of David Crowell and Emma Louise Vanderhoven.2 Marion Crowell married Eugene Dutilh Sewall, son of Egbert Thatcher Sewall and Elizabeth Gove Cunningham, on 20 June 1894 in Passaic, New Jersey.3 Marion Crowell and Eugene Dutilh Sewall appear on the census of 1920 at Washington, District of Columbia, where he is described as a lawyer in the Patent business and she is a clerk in a government office.4 Marion Crowell died on 16 December 1942 at the age of 705 and is buried in Rock Creek Cemetery, Washington, District of Columbia.6

Funeral services for Mrs. Marian Crowell Sewall, 3609 Thirty-fourth street N.W. who died Wednesday in Doctors' Hospital after a short illness, were to be held at 2:30 p.m. today in Bethlehem Chapel of Washington Cathedral. Funeral services and burial were to be private.
Mrs. Sewall was the wife of Eugene D. Sewall, a former principal examiner of the Patent Office and later a patent attorney for General Motors Corp. until retiring in 1940.
Born in Rahway, N.J. Mrs. Sewall came here as a bride when her husband was appointed to a position at the Patent Office. Later, while Mr. Sewall was with General Motors, they made their home in Dayton, Ohio, and in Detroit, until returning here after Mr. Sewall retired.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Sewall leaves two daughters, Mrs. Katharine Crozier, wife of Frank Crozier, deputy director of the Controller's Division of the War Production Board, and Mrs. Elizabeth Weymouth, this city; a brother, Ralph Crowell, Detroit; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.5
