Jacob Toppan, son of Abraham Toppan and Susan Taylor, on 14 January 1705/6 she was the widow of his brother-in-law, John Sewall.6,7,8 Hannah Fessenden died on 4 April 1723.9 She was buried in Old Grave Yard, York, Maine, the gravestone is inscribed "Here lyes ye body of Mrs Hannah Toppan, born at Canterbury in England 1649, married in N. England to Mr. John Sewall & after his decease to Mr Jacob Toppan both of Newbury. Decd April 4th 1723."10
