     Robert Grieve was christened on 5 June 1818 at Hawick, Roxburghshire.¹ He was the son of Walter J. Grieve and Christian Elliot.¹

     Walter Grieve was born in 1724.¹ He married Jean Potts, daughter of Adam Potts and Betty Elliot, on 17 August 1744 in Roberton, Roxburghshire, the marriage of Thomas Stavert and Betty Potts occurred at the same time.² Walter Grieve died in 1793.¹

     Walter J. Grieve was born on 6 June 1781.² He was the son of John Grieve and Isabella Turnbull.³ Walter J. Grieve married Christian Elliot on 20 December 1812 in Cavers, Roxburghshire.⁴ Walter J. Grieve and Christian Elliot appeared in the 1861 census at Southfield Farm House, Hawick, Roxburghshire.¹ Walter J. Grieve died on 3 August 1861 or 4 August 1861.

     William Grieve was christened on 20 October 1824 at Hawick, Roxburghshire.¹ He was the son of Walter J. Grieve and Christian Elliot.¹ A William Grieve emigrated in 1871 to Québec he was possibly a widower as he is listed as single together with the following members of his family on the passenger list; William aged 17, Janet 15, David 7, Ann 6, Jane 3.² He married Margaret Jane Anderson, daughter of James Anderson and Jane Stewart, on 8 January 1878 in Owen Sound, Grey, Ontario.³

     William Grieve was born in 1855.¹ He was the son of William Bell Grieve and Elizabeth Fairbairn.¹ William Grieve died on 13 January 1934 in Kingston, Ontario, unmarried.^1,2

     William Bell Grieve was born on 29 March 1818 in Craik, Selkirkshire.¹ He was the son of George Grieve and Minto Bell.¹ William Bell Grieve married Elizabeth Fairbairn, daughter of Robert Fairbairn, on 1 July 1842 in Canada.² William Bell Grieve and Elizabeth Fairbairn appear on the census of 1851 at Richmond, Lennox County, Canada West [Ontario], The family are farmers and are Presbyterians. Living with them are Robert Fairburn, 65, Robert Fairburn, 22 and Esther Fairburn, 22, all born in Scotland; Robert Fairburn, aged 11, born in the United States and Archibald Fairburn, aged 9, born in Ontario.³ William Bell Grieve appears on the census of 1881 at Napanee Town, Lennox, Ontario, where he is described as a hotel keeper and a Presbyterian. He is listed on his own, which might just suggest that the hotel was not a resounding success.⁴ He died on 22 September 1885 in Napanee, Lennox, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 67.⁵ Note: Lillie Bell GRIEVE, died 24 March 1885 at age 3 yrs, 3 month, 23 days, of scarlet fever, at Napanee, Informant was William GRIEVE, hotel keeper.⁶

     William Bell Grieve was born on 6 May 1870 in Ontario.¹ He was the son of George Grieve and Mary Rachel Jenkins.¹ William Bell Grieve married Annie Maud Hawley, daughter of William Hawley and Margaret S. Snider, on 25 October 1905 in Napanee, he is a book keeper of Richmond, Napanee and she is of Ernestown, Napanee.² They moved to Western Canada about 1910 and returned to Napanee from Calgary in April 1925.³ William Bell Grieve died in 1952.

     Wilmina Grieve was christened on 3 May 1820 at Hawick, Roxburghshire.¹ She was the daughter of Walter J. Grieve and Christian Elliot.¹

     Edward J. Griffin was born on 16 September 1857 in Maine.¹ He married Effie L. Sewall, daughter of James Fogg Sewall and Christiana K. Southard, on 10 May 1884 in Penobscot County, Maine, they had one child who died before 1900.^2,3 Edward J. Griffin died on 1 January 1903 in Corinna, Penobscot County, Maine, at the age of 45¹ and is buried in the Village Cemetery, Corinna, Penobscot County, Maine.¹

     Surgeon George Griffin was born on 3 July 1787 in England. He married Mary [Unknown].¹ Surgeon George Griffin died on 26 April 1864 in Québec at the age of 76.^2,1 He was buried on 29 April 1864 in Mount Hermon Cemetery, Québec.¹

     Julia Frances Griffin was born in 1869 in Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota.⁴ She married Frank Lewis Sewall, son of Edward Sewall and Sarah Elizabeth Swanton, on 26 March 1907 in Los Angeles.⁵ In 31 October 1937, the address of Julia Frances Griffin was 277 Park Avenue, New York, New York.⁶ She died in 1963⁴ and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bath, Sagadahoc County, Maine.⁴

     Lavinia Marian Griffin was born on 3 September 1814.¹ She was the daughter of Surgeon George Griffin and Mary [Unknown].² Lavinia Marian Griffin was baptised on 2 August 1815 at St. Margaret's Westminster, London.¹ She married Sheriff William Smith Sewell, son of Chief Justice Jonathan/3 Sewell and Henrietta Smith, on 20 February 1843 in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, (marriage bond dated 16 February 1843.)³ Lavinia Marian Griffin died on 7 August 1900 in Québec at the age of 85.⁴ She was buried on 9 August 1900 in Mount Hermon Cemetery Q279, Sillery, funeral from 11 St. Ursule Street to St. Matthews Church.^4,5

     Ruby A. Griffin was born in July 1853 in New York.¹ She married Joseph J. Buell, son of Sylvanus Buell and Sarah Wood Jewett.¹ Ruby A. Griffin died on 26 March 1940 at 126 Mitchell Road, Greece, Monroe County, New York, the home of her son Charles, at the age of 86.^1,2

     Sophia Harriet Griffin was born in 1824 in Corfu, Ionian Islands (Greece).² She was the daughter of Surgeon George Griffin and Mary [Unknown].¹ Sophia Harriet Griffin died on 14 March 1880 in Ottawa.¹ She was buried on 17 March 1880 in Mount Hermon Cemetery, Sillery, Québec.^1,3

     Thomas George Griffin was born on 1 August 1810.¹ He was the son of Surgeon George Griffin and Mary [Unknown].¹ Thomas George Griffin was baptised on 2 August 1815 at St. Margaret's Westminster, London.¹

Marshal of the King's Hall, Chamberlain of North Wales.^1,3 He was born circa 1447.³ He was the son of William Fychan ap Gwilym and Alice Dalton.³ Sir William Griffith The Elder married Joan Troutbeck, daughter of Sir William Troutbeck and Margaret Stanley.¹ Sir William Griffith The Elder was living in Penrhyn, Caenarvonshire.⁴ He died in 1505.³
