She was a retired librarian of the Okolona Carnegie Library, member of First United Methodist Church, Lanier Club, Daughters of the American Revolution. She was the former owner operator of Chandler and LaGrone Store in Okolona and past president of UMW where she was currently serving as secretary and served as Sunday School teacher for many years. Her husband, Arthur Chandler(Preacher) Taylor preceded her in death in 1971.
Services were held Wednesday at Okolona Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Davis Greeg officiating. Burial was in Oddfellows Cemetery. Okolona Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne T. Mulkins of Nashville, TN; sister Mrs. Robert Barnes of Coldwater, MI;three grandchildren, Capt. William D. Mulkins,III, Capt. Arthur Taylor Mulkins and Clairann Mulkins; three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bill Gregory, Bob Gregory, James Edward Edens, Harold Turner, Bob Harris, Jamie Darnell.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. J. H. Shoemaker, Ted Casey, Clyde Stewart, Lyle Murphree, Walter Chandler, Sr., James Britt, Ed Edens, Dwight Blissard, Howard Miskelly, Harry Lassiter,Jerry Morgan, and all members of the Okolona First United Methodist Church.
