David Herrick Noyes, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Humphrey Noyes. Sherrill Hill graduate and former Syracuse University golf star, died yesterday afternoon on his third wedding anniversary. News of his death reached friends here this morning.
The former Hill athlete died of double pneumonia. He was stricken while attending sales conferences at Oneida Community, Ltd., of which his father is secretary.
Noyes was a member of the champion intercollegiate golf team of Syracuse University a few years ago. He had lived in Johnstown, Pa., since leaving college. Before entering Syracuse, Noyes attended Sherrill High School and Dean Academy. He was a star football player during his pre-college days. He was a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity.
Funeral services for Noyes will take place at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Mansion House in Sherrill. Rev. G.B. Swinnerton, pastor emeritus of First Presbyterian Church, Oneida, will officiate.3
