     Dr. William George Scott was born on 11 December 1852 in Walsall, Staffordshire.1 He married Alithea Mary Symonds Symonds, daughter of John Jermyn Symonds and Alithea Seymour Wilson, on 16 August 1879 in Onehunga, New Zealand.2 Dr. Scott was mayor of Onehunga 1883-1887and was the first doctor in New Zealand to link scarlet fever and typhoid outbreaks to polluted water.3 Dr. William George Scott died on 2 September 1930 in Onehunga at the age of 77.1

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Barton Scovil, who are skiing in Canada on their wedding trip, will live in New York City when they return.
Before her marriage Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Scovil was Miss Elinor Sewall, niece and adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Callan, of Lawrence Park, Bronxville. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lorne Scovil, of Morristown, N. J.
The ceremony was performed at 3:30 o'clock at the Callan home, by the Rev. Quitman Beckley, Catholic chaplain of Princeton University. A small reception followed.
Mr. Callan gave the bride in marriage. Her cousin, Miss Agnes Sewall, of Mountain Lakes, N. J., was maid of honor. Attendants were Mrs. Sidney Leeds Wells, Mrs. Charles Jackson Smith, the Misses Harriet Barton Scovil, sister of the bridegroom, Patricia Hollister, Constance Abbe, Elizabeth Baker, Lucille Greene and Sarah Putnam.
William E. Seeley, of Morristown, was best man. Ushers included Charles J. Sewall, cousin of the bride, Harry Powers Dunne, Robert Post Sturgls, Howard T. Feeley, Crawford Morris, Robert G. Kemp, John Edward Stark and William Gard McCulloch.
The bride, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Foster Sewall, was graduated from the Westover School and from Sarah Lawrence College, '39. She is a member of the New York Junior League, the Bronxville Field Club and the Bronxvllle League for Service. She is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sewall and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Redford J. Mount of New York.
Mr. Scovil was graduated from Princeton, '37, and is a member of the Princeton Club of New York. He is a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John M. Barton and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas Scovil, and a grandnephew of Samuel Scovil of Cleveland. The Daily Argus, 25 February 1941.5


Samuel Barton Scovil died on 7 April 2002 probably in Winsted, Connecticut, at the age of 86.2
