     Theodore Roosevelt was born on 22 September 1831 in Albany, New York. He was the son of Cornelius van Schaack Roosevelt and Margaret Barnhill. Theodore Roosevelt married Martha Stewart Bulloch on 22 December 1853 in Rosewell, Georgia. Theodore Roosevelt died on 9 February 1878 at the age of 46.

     Rebecca Roper was born in 1640 (aged 22 on 6 August 1662.)¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Roper and Elizabeth Goodyer.¹

     Samuel Roper was the son of Thomas Roper of Heanor and Anne Grazebrook.¹ Samuel Roper. Antiquary, barrister of Lincoln's Inn and a Colonel in the Parliamentary Army.^2,3 He is also recorded as Samuel Rooper.⁴ He married Elizabeth Goodyer, daughter of Sir Henry Goodyer, between 1627 and 1633.³ Samuel Roper made a will on 31 August 1658 which was proved in London on 14 October.⁵ He died on 1 September 1658 in Heanor, Derbyshire, (Notes & Queries gives the following day whilst the Visitations gives the year as 1656.)^5,6,4

     Thomas Roper was born in 1641 (aged 21 on 6 August 1662.)¹ He was the son of Samuel Roper and Elizabeth Goodyer.¹

     Thomas Roper of Heanor. A barrister of the Inner Temple.² He married as his second wife Anne Grazebrook, daughter of Alverey Grazebrook and Margaret Keene, after 1575.^2,3 Thomas Roper of Heanor was living in 1598.³

     (Infant) Ropes was born on 25 June 1856 in Florence, Italy, stillborn.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Ropes and Marcia Elizabeth S. Sewall.²

     Abigail Ropes was born in 1761.¹ She was the daughter of Judge Nathaniel Ropes and Priscilla Sparhawk.¹ Abigail Ropes married William Orne on 24 March 1780.¹ Abigail Ropes died on 20 May 1813.¹

     Abigail Ropes married John Ropes, son of Judge Nathaniel Ropes and Priscilla Sparhawk, on 10 June 1784.¹ Abigail Ropes died before 11 December 1787.¹

     Elizabeth Ropes was born on 28 November 1764.¹ She was the daughter of Judge Nathaniel Ropes and Priscilla Sparhawk.¹ Elizabeth Ropes married Jonathan Hodges on 30 March 1788.¹ Elizabeth Ropes died on 30 August 1840 at the age of 75.¹

     Horace Ropes was born in April 1859 in Italy.² He was the son of Joseph Ropes and Marcia Elizabeth S. Sewall.³ Horace Ropes died on 3 September 1944 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, at the age of 85.⁴

     Jane Ropes was born on 22 January 1767.¹ She was the daughter of Judge Nathaniel Ropes and Priscilla Sparhawk.¹ Jane Ropes married Samuel C. Ward on 31 October 1790.¹ Jane Ropes died on 18 January 1803 at the age of 35.¹

     John Ropes was born on 10 January 1763.¹ He was the son of Judge Nathaniel Ropes and Priscilla Sparhawk.¹ John Ropes married firstly Abigail Ropes on 10 June 1784.¹ John Ropes married secondly H. Haraden on 11 December 1787.¹ John Ropes died on 9 July 1828 at the age of 65.¹

     Joseph Ropes. An artist.¹ He was born on 11 November 1812 in Salem, Massachusetts.^2,1 He married Marcia Elizabeth S. Sewall, daughter of William Dunning Sewall and Rachel Allen Trufant, on 12 June 1855 in Bath, Sagadahoc County, Maine.³ Joseph Ropes died on 23 March 1890 in Salem, Massachusetts, at the age of 77¹ and is buried in Florence, Italy.⁴

     Mary Sewall Ropes was born in January 1862 in Rome, Italy.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Ropes and Marcia Elizabeth S. Sewall.¹

     Nathaniel Ropes was born on 13 June 1759.¹ He was the son of Judge Nathaniel Ropes and Priscilla Sparhawk.¹ Nathaniel Ropes married firstly Sarah Putnam on 17 April 1791.² Nathaniel Ropes married secondly Elizabeth Cleveland on 12 April 1803.² Nathaniel Ropes died on 8 August 1806 at the age of 47.¹

     Nathaniel Ropes was born on 13 June 1759 in Massachusetts.¹ He married secondly Elizabeth Cleveland, daughter of Rev. Aaron Cleveland and Susanna Porter, on 3 April 1803 in Massachusetts.¹

     Judge Nathaniel Ropes was born on 20 May 1726.² He graduated in 1745 from Harvard.³ He married Priscilla Sparhawk, daughter of Rev. John Sparhawk and Jane Porter, on 2 September 1755.¹ Judge Nathaniel Ropes died on 18 March 1774 at the age of 47 of smallpox "in the prime of life."⁴ He was representative to the General Court; a member of the Council; Chief Justice of the Common Pleas, and Judge of Probate for the county of Essex; and a Judge of Superior Court of Massachusetts. He was a firm Loyalist. The night before his death, his house was attacked by the multitude, and the windows and furniture were demolished.³

     Samuel Ropes was born in 1773.¹ He was the son of Judge Nathaniel Ropes and Priscilla Sparhawk.¹ Samuel Ropes died on 21 September 1794 at sea; unmarried.¹

     Of Charleston, South Carolina.² Alexander Rose was born on 27 July 1731 in Inverness, Scotland.³ He married Margaret Smith, daughter of Judge William Smith and Mary Hett, on 21 January 1779.^4,5,3 Alexander Rose died on 28 March 1801 in Georgetown County, South Carolina, at the age of 69.³
